Heritage Mega Boxes Arrive Wednesday: 2026 Topps Heritage Football Gets Its Red Border Release

Available Wednesday, November 4 at Sports Card Heroes | Laurel, MD

The retro party isn’t over. The Hobby and Value Blaster boxes of 2026 Topps Heritage Football hit shelves on October 21, and now the Mega Box arrives this Wednesday, November 4. If you’ve been chasing the 1976 Topps design and its return after eleven years, this is your next chance to rip it.

What Is Heritage Football?

Heritage puts today’s NFL stars on a vintage Topps design, and for 2026 that design is the 50th anniversary of the 1976 set. It’s the same look that gave us Walter Payton’s iconic rookie card. The 400-card base set includes veterans, rookies, League Leaders, Record Breakers, and team cards. Chrome Variations run the full rainbow all the way down to the 1/1 SuperFractor.

Mega boxes hold 17 packs of 8 cards, 136 cards total, and they carry an exclusive Red Border parallel you can’t pull in Hobby. That’s a nice hunt for set builders.

Rookies and Autos

Fernando Mendoza, Jeremiyah Love, Carnell Tate, Jordyn Tyson, Caleb Downs, Makai Lemon, and Garrett Nussmeier headline the rookie class. Heritage Football has a deep auto list, including Real One Autographs, Founding Era Ink, Classic Renditions, and relic autos. Topps has also announced rare Walter Payton Cut Signatures, which are the holy grail of the 50th anniversary theme.

Inserts and Case Hits

Two new insert sets tie into the anniversary. The Expansion celebrates the NFL’s 1976 expansion era, and All-Pro Series pays tribute to the old Wonder Bread football cards. Sweetness pairs Hall of Fame backs with today’s stars. New Age Performers and Through the Years also return.

Box Formats

Mega boxes arrive November 4. Hobby (20 packs of 8, one auto or relic per box) and Value Blasters are available now. Hobby is still the best choice if you want maximum auto and relic potential.

Why This Release Matters

This is Heritage Football’s first release since 2015, and the throwback design is gorgeous. For vintage-loving collectors, it’s a must-rip product. The Mega box gives you more cards, more Heritage, and a parallel you can’t get anywhere else.
