First Day Issue Arrives Friday, October 30 | Hobby Arrives Friday, November 6 | Sports Card Heroes, Laurel, MD
Inception is back in the NFL! 2026 Topps Inception Football is the brand’s first licensed NFL release since 2015, and it brings colorful, premium design with on-card autographs. First Day Issue boxes arrive Friday, October 30, and standard Hobby boxes land Friday, November 6. It’s a loaded release for rookie chasers.
What Is Inception Football?
Inception is the high-end, artistic Topps brand, and the football edition has a 200-card base set that includes 150 veterans and more than 50 rookies. Each Hobby box has one pack of 7 cards with about one autograph on average. Cases hold 8 boxes. It’s a short, hit-focused rip. Every card counts.
The Rookie Class
Fernando Mendoza, Ty Simpson, Jeremiyah Love, Carnell Tate, Jordyn Tyson, and Makai Lemon headline the class. There are also 25 Rookie Short Prints, including Carson Beck, Jeremiyah Love, and Ja’Kobi Lane.
Autos and Hits
The auto lines include Charged Particles Autographs and Immersion Autographs, which carry over from the MLB release, plus Rookie Jumbo Relic Autographs with large circles of player-worn memorabilia. Dual autographs pair rookies and stars. Case hits include 1/1 memorabilia pieces like Laundry Tag, Button, NFL Shield, and 2026 NFL Draft Pin cards.
Box Formats
Hobby boxes deliver a premium rip. First Day Issue boxes, which come out a week earlier, include one autograph, one FDI-exclusive Patch Autograph numbered to 22, two parallels, and two FDI-exclusive parallels numbered to 18. If you want the strongest hit potential, FDI is the move.
Why This Release Matters
Football collectors have waited a long time for NFL-licensed Inception, and the 2026 rookie class is very strong. The autograph lineup and the FDI exclusives give breakers a reason to open multiple boxes. It’s a must-rip product with real long-term upside.
